ABSTRACT

The relevance of the study of religions in public universities faces frequent critique from other members both in academia and the public. This field of study is often and easily misconceived to belong to faith-based institutions. However, in Ghana, this field of study persists in public universities. This makes it compelling to understand the present realities of the study of religion in public universities and open a discourse on how such a public space can maximize education for social transformation and development in a religiously plural society like Ghana.
